Xemex launches P1 to Modbus converter

The smart meter with P1 port is finding its way into more and more electrical installations of households and companies. Via this P1 port you can read out live electricity and gas data from the installation. 

But what if we want to monitor the read-out data and are dependent on a device that only supports the Modbus protocol?

For that reason Xemex introduces a product that makes the P1 values available in Modbus registers via RS485. We call the product: p1mb. 

This slim product on Dinrail format (90 x 18 x 65 mm) can be connected to the P1 port of the smart meter which complies with DSMR4 or DSMR5 specifications. A cable with RJ11 connectors at both ends connects the module to the meter. The Modbus is connected via 3-wires to the RS485 (A(+), B(-) and S), and acts as a slave to the Modbus master. The power supply comes in through the P1 port of the smart meter. Connection to an external power supply is also possible. 

The Xemex p1mb combines flawlessly with the Xemex dingate Multi-meter or with any other gateway that has RS485. 

The p1mb works optimally in applications designed for monitoring and control of energy flows, both for residential and commercial use. Neutral-energy houses, solar panel installations, etc.
