Vacancy: Embedded Software Engineer

Your contribution
In this role, you are the specialist in the development of software applications on high-tech electronics applied in the many facets of energy transition (such as monitoring and managing solar panels, charging stations, heat pumps and combinations thereof (EMS)). You are part of a multidisciplinary team within the R&D department, in which you use your knowledge and expertise to contribute to the growth of our organisation.
Your tasks are as follows:
- Developing the software for our EMS (energy management solutions) on the basis of the requirements of the market and the technical possibilities.
- Developing software in C/C++ for new applications.
- Maintaining existing firmware.
- Documenting the software operation (such as design and test documentation).
- Contributing to the architectural, testing and production tools.
- Validating the proper functioning of the software through the development of test scripts.
- Handling escalated support questions.
Your personality and strengths
- You have a technical master’s education or equivalent through experience.
- You have 3 to 10 years of work experience in the field of embedded software engineering.
- You have excellent knowledge of embedded C/C++ development and experience with the development of communication protocols.
- You have experience with both bare metal microcontroller developing and Embedded Linux.
- Experience with IOT platforms and technologies is a plus.
- You have an affinity with hardware (reading diagrams, taking measurements with an oscilloscope, ..)
- Your knowledge of TCL/TK, TCP/IP, RF and GSM technologies is a plus.
- You are analytical, precise, a problem solver and have a healthy dose of common sense.
- You are proactive, enthusiastic and enjoy taking the initiative.
- You are a team player and can also work independently.
- You are a strong communicator and know how to back your opinion. You are constructively critical and dare to give feedback.
- You are young at heart, open-minded and know how to deal with change. You can also cope with a dynamic, changing company. You are stress resistant and know how to deal with the unexpected.
- You realise that you are the one driving your career and your personal development. You can make suggestions about what you need for that.
- You have a good knowledge of English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
